I don’t think I will ever stop….

I seemed to manage last years resolutions…I am learning Japanese, I have lost 30lbs BUT my kimono habit is still my vice!

Evidence from the last few months:

Silver and Black Nagoya Obi

163cm Kimono

Red/Black Meisen

Kinchaku Bag

Kinchaku Bag

Black Nagoya

Wool Juban

Princess Obi!

Bright Pink Obi

Stripy Obi

Kinchaku Bag

HELP! I have a problem and I am in denial.

My New Years resolutions will have to be tighter:

– Lose 10lbs more
– DON’T BUY A THING – NOT EVEN A NEW LIP GLOSS!!!!!!
– Increase my vocabulary and focus on reading and writing in Japanese.

However, on a positive note I got each and every one for $20 or under. The bags were $10, kimono $20 and obi $5 or $10!

Obsession, Indulgence, New beginnings – 2010 Reflection

Well, Happy 2011. I have all the increases in household expenditure down now in my budget, VAT increase, insurance increase, energy increase and well – not one bill will stay the same. On average per month my expenditure will rise by around £211 without adding anything new in 2011.

However, with my new years resolutions with indulgence of my main obsessions will cease temporarily to allow for these tight months ahead. So, what happened to me in 2010?

Well, at the beginning of the year I started up the UK branch of createyourtemplate and so this year has been about investment of money and time in forming a great business. I feel we have done well in 2010, and 2011 will be promising!

This year, my kimono obsession had peaked and now my collection is very wearable and my kitsuke skills greatly improved. Of course, fuelling my obsession is the Kimono De Jack movement in the UK and new friends to go with it 🙂

So I have spent a lot of money and time on my kimono skills and collection which I will be able to enjoy more and more next year.

2010 was a strange year, but it really has been the run up for a great 2011. So what do I have planned?

1. New business website launched and Channeladvisor Catalyst to increase business
2. Kitsuke stall at Kitacon
3. More kimono wearing and participation in Kimono de jack UK!
4. Learning Japanese
5. Back to jiu jitsu!

2011, will be a fun but still disciplined year. I feel I will learn a lot though my friends and business pursuits this year as I finally feel as though I am starting to grow up a little.

Anyway, some New Years eve kimono photos!

New Years Resolutions…

I don’t normally bother, but this year I have eaten and spent to my hearts content and need to ‘clean up’ my body and bank account. Alex and I need a holiday and that involves money and wearing a bikini, neither of which are in my future currently.

I have a kimono ‘list’ of needs and currently it only has tabi and two new yukata for the summer on it. Maybe a kimono bra but loosing weight means no bust for me anyhow!

So in theory two yukata from my favourite yukata seller http://www.kimono-yukata-market.com/ should set me back £100 max and tabi? A couple of pairs at about £7 each.

Can I keep to that meagre spend for the WHOLE of 2011 or will I go mad? I will run out of space if I don’t.

Diet….a long over due stone that’s been clinging to me needs to go. Why have I not lost weight? Gland problem? Metabolism problem? No. CAKE. Cake makes a girl fat. If you stop eating cake you will be thin.

So what will be the plus marks of such a thinning down? Well two yukata that have shrunk a bit in the wash will fit better and some of my more tight kimono will close with more room and I won’t have short obi issues with my hakata obi.

If I keep to my new years resolutions I will be thin and richer. I certainly have enough kimono for the next 12 months of kimono de jack, now I have places to go and wear kimono I need money to spend on travel and things!
